The heart sits right at the centre of the composition and a pair of spread wings extend out from both sides, giving the whole thing a wide horizontal shape. Its one of those classic romantic motifs that reads as love immediately without needing much else going on. The wings have individual feather detail lines so they dont look flat, ya get actual texture from those directional satin stitches across each feather section.
Three thread colours: bright red for the heart, warm white for the wings, and a dark near-black outline that defines every edge. Density sits at 521, which means the fill is solid but not heavy, so it works on lightweight fabrics without the design pulling or stiffening the base too much. Stitch count goes from 6,338 at 3.51 inches wide up to 16,110 at the 7.51 inch size. Dont skip the stabiliser, a tearaway on woven fabric or a light cutaway on knit keeps the wing feather stitching from drifting since those directional runs need the fabric held firmly in the hoop.
This design is wide and fairly flat in height, only 1.92 to 4.12 inches tall, so it sits well as a centred chest design without going too far up toward the collar. A customer told me last valentines she used the 5-inch run on a couple set, one on each shirt but mirrored left to right, and it came out looking really intentional. Stitch on a red or deep pink base fabric for contrast, or on white with just the red heart popping out.
The symmetrical wing spread makes this look balanced on any project, cushions, tote fronts, baby bibs, or a linen table runner. Use a tear-away base on the hooped fabric before you run it and the feather lines will come out sharp and clean.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Valentine's Day couples matching shirtsCouples matching shirts with the 5-inch version; one customer mirrored left-to-right on the two shirts and said it looked really intentional.
- Romantic pillow covers and cushion panelsLinen cushion cover at 6 inches for a bedroom accent; the wide horizontal shape suits the rectangular panel naturally.
- Baby bibs and infant Valentine giftsBaby bib front at 3.5 inches; the symmetrical wings fit the standard bib panel cleanly without touching the tie edges.
- Canvas tote bags and gift bagsCanvas tote front at 4 inches for a Valentines gift bag; the feather detail in the wings reads from a normal distance.
- Seasonal linen table runnersLinen table runner at 7.5 inches; the horizontal spread fills the runner width at the ends without needing any centring adjustment.
- Valentine-themed wall hoop artRound hoop wall art in a 7-inch frame; the design photographs beautifully because the feather satin catches light differently from the heart fill.
- Fabric greeting card panels and patchesFabric patch on a greeting card panel at the chest 3.5es; trim and mount on card stock for a handmade valentines card.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
