Sat down with this idea after customers keep asking for a winter design thats not explicitly christmas, just snow and cold and quiet. Its a single-colour file, one thread, and it has a geometric snowflake at the top with six arms each ending in small forked points. Below it sits a short quote phrase in a clean serif font, the text feels calm rather than festive. It runs tall, the height goes from 3.51 inches at the smallest up to 7.51 inches at the full size, so it works well on a chest panel where you want height not width.
Single colour makes this genuinely fast to stitch. Counts run from 5,658 stitches at the 2.17-inch width up to 12,524 at the 4.63-inch wide version, these are modest numbers compared to most christmas designs. industry tools output the snowflake at a density of 360 which is deliberately open, the arms have a lacy look because of the spacing and you lose that if you go denser. The underlay is minimal, just a light outline run, which keeps the design from looking stiff on softer fabrics.
I get messages about single-colour designs more than you'd think, people love em for how fast they run. One customer wanted the 4-inch version, she specifically asked me just send me the widest file that fits a standard 4x4 hoop, and the 3.52-inch width was exactly right for her machine. She hooped it on a charcoal sweatshirt and it came out with that quiet, wintry vibe that made the whole thing work.
Back firm cutaway on stretchy fabrics like sweatshirt fleece, tearaway is fine on denim or canvas. Skip the topping, the density is open enough that you dont need it on standard knits. Add it on terry cloth or velvet. Pair it with a silver-blue or white thread on any dark base, charcoal, navy, slate grey, all read well because the contrast is doing the work here.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Charcoal sweatshirts and hoodies as cozy winter wearThe 4.63-inch width centres cleanly on a standard adult sweatshirt chest without crowding the neckline.
- Knit blanket corner accent for a winter bedroomStitch the 2.17-inch file in a corner of a knit blanket for a quiet accent that doesnt overwhelm the fabric.
- Tote bags for book lovers or coffee shop carrySingle-colour on a canvas market bag keeps the design understated, good for everyday carry into winter.
- Throw pillow covers with a minimalist winter aestheticThe tall proportions of the design suit a square pillow panel when run vertically at the 7-inch height.
- Fleece scarves or neck warmers with subtle motifRun the 2-inch size along a fleece scarf edge at repeating intervals for a simple border pattern.
- Gift wrapping fabric squares for a seasonal touchStitch onto a square of muslin or cotton fabric, fold over a box, and tie as decorative fabric gift wrap.
- Denim jacket back yoke for a subtle winter patch lookThe single-colour works well as an iron-on patch base when stitched onto felt and cut to shape.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
