Its a chubby round cat wearing a tall pointy witch hat, drawn in that cute chunky cartoon style where the body is almost a circle and the little face has just enough detail to read clearly. Single black thread, simple and fast to stitch. The hat sits slightly tilted which is what gives it that kinda playful look instead of being stiff. My kids went absolutely mad for this one when I was testing it, which is honestly a decent quality check for a halloween cat design.
Digitised in industry-grade software with a density of 260, which is on the lighter side, so it stitches up quickly and doesnt pull tight on medium weight cottons or jersey. At 3.5 inches wide the smallest size comes in at 6,272 stitches, and the largest at 7.5 inches reaches 11,771. Hoop a medium stabiliser underneath, tearaway works fine here since the fill density is low and wont stress the backing on removal. Reach into your thread drawer and grab a matte black rayon or polyester thread, shiny thread can make flat fills look plasticky on a cute character design.
Cats and halloween go together realy well for kids items, and I Reach for this file specifically when doing smaller pieces or quick custom orders. One customer asked me last october if I had a simple black cat that wasnt too scary for her 4 year old, and this is the one I pointed her to. The design is soft enough for a onesie or a little tee without being overwhelming on small fabric real estate.
Use a topping layer on fleece or minky if thats your fabric, the low density stitches can sink into pile fabrics otherwise. Skip busy patterned backgrounds, the single colour reads best against a solid light or contrasting fabric like cream cotton or grey jersey.

- Small zip pouches and coin pursesFits neatly on a zip pouch front at the 3 in micro with room around the edges.
- Halloween party banner fabric panelsCut fabric panels hooped individually then piece together for a banner line of witch cats across bunting.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
