Classic tall witch hat with a wide brim that curls up at the front edge. There's a band around the base of the cone with a small buckle detail in gold or yellow satin fill, and on the brim youve got a few small accent shapes: a star maybe, or a little moon, done in orange or green depending on the colour sequence in your file version. Five colours total. The cone sits in solid black satin, the band and buckle break it up, and those lil accent pieces give it enough detail to read as intentional and not just a plain silhouette.
Five sizes from 2.8 inches wide up to 5.9 inches, and at the largest the stitch count hits 28,425 with a density of 642. Thats a firm dense stitch and the black satin sections lay heavy on fabric, so I always run this on medium-to-heavy cutaway stabiliser. Dont use tearaway on a soft tee or the weight of the black fill will pull the neckline out of shape. A customer last halloween ordered a dozen of these on trick-or-treat bags for her kids school class, she did them on black canvas which made the gold buckle pop against the background and you couldnt even see the black cone which was a nice effect actually. Use a stabiliser colour that matches your fabric if you're going black-on-black.
Stitch the 5-in size on a child's treat bag front panel. Use the 3-in design on a hat cuff or a headband piece. Pop the 4-in piece on the chest of an adult halloween sweatshirt. Add it to a canvas tote alongside a pumpkin design to build out a halloween set. Run the smallest 2.8-inch version on a pocket square or small pouch for a subtle seasonal piece that isnt over the top.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Child's trick-or-treat bag front panelCanvas trick-or-treat bag at 5 inches with heavy cutaway, the black cone holds shape through a whole October of use.
- Hat cuff or headband for halloweenKnit hat cuff where the 3-inch size needs cutaway not tearaway so the hat ribbing doesnt pucker under the 642 density black satin.
- Adult halloween sweatshirt chestSweatshirt left chest at 4 inches, the gold buckle and orange accent against black fleece reads clearly from bleacher distance.
- Canvas tote as part of a halloween setMakeup bag front panel in black canvas at the smaller size, the witch hat is seasonally relevant but not too costume-y for adults.
- Small pouch or pocket square seasonal accentCanvas tote paired with a pumpkin design for a coordinated set where the black hat and orange pumpkin palette ties both together.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
