This is the walking version, profile pose, broom carried horizontally out to the side rather than pointing up or angled for flight. Theres a sense of motion to it even standing still, the robes sweep back, the hat sits low, and the broom bristles extend to the right like shes about to either mount it or sweep something. No bats, no extra elements, just the figure on its own which makes it easier to combine with other motifs on a charcoal tote panel or a seasonal banner.
Three sizes from 2.51 inches up to 4.51 inches wide, stitch count 5,592 to 11,568. Single colour, zero colour changes, 12 trims on the small and 15 on the largest. Density is 586 per unit, the horizontal broom shape means the machine has a longer travel path on that element so the underlay sequencing matters, the digitising routes it cleanly without gaps. Built through my usual software and the cape section uses a shorter directional satin angle than the hat to keep each zone visually distinct in solid black.
Bone black thread on a charcoal canvas tote is an unusual combination, and I initially thought it wouldnt show, but the slight undertone difference between the two blacks reads really well in person. Pumpkin orange as an accent moon or text element alongside this design is another option customers keep asking about. One customer asked me last october for dimensions to fit this alongside a full moon circle, and it layered perfectly at the small 3.5.
Stitch this on charcoal first to test the bone-black contrast. Pair it with a moon motif for layered halloween artwork. Skip thin tearaway, use real cutaway under the cape sweep.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Charcoal canvas tote bags with a minimalist halloween lookUse the chest 3.5 on a charcoal canvas tote gusset panel, bone black thread for subtle contrast against dark ground.
- Fabric bunting and halloween banner garlandsStitch multiple using the 2.51-inch size on individual bunting triangles, alternate with pumpkin motifs.
- Corner accent for halloween quilts and wall hangingsPlace the small 3.5 in the lower corner of a halloween quilt block, the horizontal broom fills corner space well.
- Stocking panels for seasonal christmas and halloween mix decorRun the smallest size on a pre-cut stocking panel side section before assembly into a finished stocking.
- Patch inserts on denim or canvas jacket sleevesUse the 4.5-inch version as a sleeve accent on a canvas jacket arm, medium cutaway backing required.
- Halloween table napkins and cocktail napkinsStitch the 2.51-inch size across a set of cocktail napkins in the corner, repeat pattern with alternating rotation.
- Scrapbooking fabric inserts and mixed-media textile artHoop onto cotton muslin and use the panel as a mixed-media background layer with ink or stamp overlays.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
