Just 2 colours, black and red. The womans profile is a single flowing line, jaw, nose, brow, the back of her head, long wavy hair falling down, all drawn in one continuous run of black running stitch. No fill, no shading, just the line. The only thing that breaks from that line style is her lips, theyre filled solid red. Beside her a stem carries 2 peony-style flowers in solid red satin, petals layered and full against the sketchy black stem and leaves.
The contrast is the whole point here. Everythings sparse and minimal except for the flowers and the lips, and those 2 red elements pull your eye to them immediately. I been digitising line art designs for years and this is one where the stitch count tells you nothing about the visual impact. On the biggest size its under 9k stitches. Done in about 10 minutes on a machine. But it looks sharp and deliberate on fabric.
Stitch counts from 4,278 on the 3.5-inch up to 8,867 running 7.5. Just 1 colour change, black first then red. Nine sizes. The line density is 174 which is extremely open so youll need a stabiliser that doesnt show through the gaps in the running stitch. Use a cutaway on any stretch fabric, a tearaway on stable woven cotton or linen, and always add a topping on knits or the lines sink into the pile.
Looks best on white, cream or very pale grey fabric. Also works on black fabric where the red flowers and lips glow against the dark ground. Skip busy prints, the line art just disappears. A customer wrote me last month after stitching the 6-inch on a plain white oversized tee, she said it looked like a fashion illustration shed paid actual gallery money for.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
