XOXO in bold letters with a small heart on each side and a diagonal arrow cutting right through the middle of the composition from the bottom left corner up to the top right. Just 2 colours but the arrow and the lettering layer on top of each other in a way that makes it look more complex than it is. The whole thing has that retro valentines card energy, like something youd see on a 1950s candy box.

5 sizes, 3.5 to a 7-in range and only 1.9 to 4.1 inches tall, so its a landscape format that sits well on a shirt chest or bag front without taking up too much height. Stitch counts are low compared to other valentine designs, 7,625 on the smallest and 16,916 on the largest. For a 2-colour design with bold fills thats about right, the coverage is solid without being overdone.

I get a bunch of orders for this one from people doing valentines day market stalls and gift stands because its fast to produce. Low stitch count means quick turnaround, and the 2 colours mean fewer thread changes in a batch run. One customer last year told me she did 3 dozen tote bags the week before valentines and this was her top seller. Two colours + nine different fabric colours she tried it on, it worked on every one of em.

Tearaway is plenty behind woven cotton and canvas. Skip anything stretchy because the bold satin letters need a firm base to stay crisp at the edges.

Pop it on a dark navy, forest green or burgundy base for something a bit different from the usual red-on-white. Pair with a date or initials below if you want a more personalised piece.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentines day market stall itemson a kraft shopper bag the bold red 2-colour design reads clearly and looks clean without overcrowding the bag.
  • Tote bags for gift setsQuick to batch-produce for a valentines market stall, low stitch count means faster turnaround per item.
  • Shirt chest placementCentred on the left chest of a shirt or sweatshirt its the right size for a bold but not overwhelming placement.
  • Canvas pouches and walletsOn a small canvas pouch or card wallet it sits nicely as a valentine-themed personalised gift accessory.
  • Valentine gift wrapping fabricStitched onto cotton or linen fabric squares for wrapping small gifts, the design shows through as part of the packaging.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
