Yes I Can Drive a Stick, and honestly this is the halloween saying that gets the most laughs on a shirt without trying too hard. Its one colour, single thread, no stops, and it still manages to be one of the more requested halloween designs I get orders for each year. The text is stacked in a bold slightly irregular serif, and the broom sits underneath at an angle like it was just leaned against the wall. At 1.86 inches wide and 3.51 tall, its a really tall narrow design, perfect for a left chest or sleeve, not gonna compete with anything else you've got going on.
The stitch count is 10,851 which is higher than you'd expect for one colour, but thats because the density is 258, genuinely dense for a digitised piece, and it shows in how sharp the broom bristles come out. Im not customising anything about this by hand; Wilcom did the underlay work and it lands clean on cotton twill, canvas, and medium fleece without a topping layer. Use a cutaway stabiliser if youre hooping a sweatshirt, with density that high on a knit you want that backing to be solid. Skip tearaway on anything stretchy.
A customer wrote me last october, she'd stitched this onto nine matching shirts for her coven group (her words) and they all wore em to a party. Kinda love that. Send the file to anyone in your group who sews; the single-colour run means even a beginner can handle this without messing up thread changes. Pair it with black thread on a white shirt and the contrast does all the work. Run it on the sleeve at 1.8 inches for a subtle placement, or put it left chest at full size for full attitude.
Send me a note if the download gives you trouble and Ill get it sorted fast.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Left chest halloween shirt embroideryPosition at 1.86 inches wide on a left chest shirt; tearaway stabiliser on tightly woven cotton removes cleanly after stitching.
- Sleeve vertical placement on witch costumeRun vertically down a long sleeve at full 3.51-inch height; cutaway stabiliser on knit keeps the dense 258-density fill flat.
- Halloween tote bag side panelStitch centred on a canvas tote front panel; tearaway behind the flat weave, black thread on natural canvas has strong contrast.
- Hoodie front chest single-colour stitchLeft chest on a fleece hoodie at full size; iron-on cutaway first to stabilise the pile, run at 70% speed for the dense fill.
- Trick-or-treat bag name tag areaPlace in the name area of a canvas trick-or-treat bag; tearaway on the flat base, single black thread on orange or white canvas.
- Halloween apron bib centre stitchCentre on an apron bib 2 inches below the neckline; cutaway on canvas apron fabric for long-term wash durability at this density.
- Canvas pouch front panel patchStitch on a 3x5-inch cotton canvas pouch front; tearaway removes easily, this density reads sharply even on small gift pouches.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
