And this one took me a while to get right. The whale sits in the centre-ish of the composition, floating across the hoop with that big mandala radiating behind it like a sun or a compass rose, depending on how ya look at it. The mandala fills in with directional satin and dense fill stitching across three shades of blue, pale aqua through to a deep navy, and the whale body itself picks up those same tones so the whole thing reads as one piece rather than two elements stuck together.
Below the whale the words "you are awesome" come through in a bold black brush-script style, hand-lettered looking with thick downstrokes and thin upstrokes. The contrast between that loose script and the tight geometric mandala above is what makes it work. I punched the file in professional embroidery software and spent alot of time on the underlay sequencing so the mandala petals dont collapse at the 5.34-inch size. At 73,544 stitches in the large version theres a real density here, use a cutaway stabiliser and dont skip the topping on any textured fabrics.
Sizes go from 5.34 inches wide up to 8.88 inches, five options total. One customer ordered the 6-inch size on a pale blue denim tote and it looked brilliant, the aqua threads almost disappear into the fabric and then the navy and black pop back out. Stitch at mid-speed and let the bobbin tension settle before you start the mandala section, its the section with the most colour changes at 6 stops.
Best on tote bags, hoodies, back panels of denim jackets, and large pillow covers. Use a medium-weight cutaway for anything woven. Leave the topping off smooth cotton but add it for fleece or terry. Pull threads tight at the back after the black script finishes or youll get a lil loop showing at the letter joins.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Beach bags and reusable shoppersThe 5.34-inch size fits a standard 12oz canvas tote perfectly without crowding the handles.
- Hoodie back panelsThe 8.88-inch version fills a hoodie back beautifully, the mandala sits just below the collar.
- Denim jacket back yokeDenim takes the cutaway underside cleanly, and the navy thread blends right into dark denim.
- Large throw pillow coversThe large size on a linen pillow cover makes a real statement piece for a coastal-themed room.
- Kids bedroom wall hoopsHooped in a 7-inch ring and framed, the mandala detail is fine enough to read as wall art.
- Beach bag panelsCanvas beach bags love this design, the ocean colour palette just fits the vibe naturally.
- Quilt centre blocksThe circular mandala composition drops into a quilt centre block without any awkward cropping.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
