Knocked out this baby bat one after a customer asked for something halloween thats not scary for her daughters room. The lil bat is hanging off a crescent moon, those big shiny eyes staring back at you, wings just barely gripping the edge. And then theres stars scattered everywhere, spider webs on the moon tips, and some fluffy clouds puffed around the sides. Kinda like a halloween dream you'd actually want to have.
Its all single 1 colour black thread which keeps the stitch time reasonable. Five sizes in the file from 3.5 inches across spanning 7.51 inches, so you can go small for a pocket detail or go full chest for a hoodie. Stitch count runs 7,428 on the smallest up to 14,717 on the largest. Hoop it snug, the web sections have alot of directional stitching that pulls if your stabiliser isnt holding firm.
But honestly the magic here is the fine line details inside the wings. Each wing panel has this lace-like crosshatched underlay that actually reads as wing membrane texture, not just a flat satin fill. I realy take pride in that kind of thing. Pop firm cutaway knits and fleece, tearaway works fine on cotton and canvas.
Best placement Ive seen so far is centred on a black tee with white or silver thread, or on a natural linen tote bag. One customer stitched it on a cream pillow cover for her kids bedroom and sent a quick pic last october, looked brilliant. Pick a mid-weight cotton or a tight canvas weave and youll get the cleanest line definition on those little web points.
Hit me up if anything seems off with the file or those web corners look off on your machine, Ill sort it out same day.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Kids halloween tshirtsA 5 inch run sized on a black kids tee makes a halloween outfit that isnt too intense for young children.
- Spooky bedroom pillow coversOn a cream cotton pillow case it becomes a spooky-sweet bedroom accent thats fine to leave up year round.
- Halloween treat bagsthe 3.5 chest fits neatly on a canvas or cotton treat bag for a personalised halloween gift bag.
- Autumn sweatshirt chest pieceCentred on the chest of a grey or charcoal sweatshirt the design pops without needing any colour thread swap.
- Linen tote bag panelOn a natural linen tote the bat and moon composition fills the panel space without looking crowded.
- Baby onesie seasonal giftThe smallest size stitched on the front panel of a white onesie makes a fun first halloween keepsake.
- Wall hoop art framingHooped in a 7 inch or 8 inch hoop with the fabric left in place it becomes a ready-to-frame wall piece.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
