Its a 3-colour word art design and honestly theres alot going on in a good way. The top word sits in big chunky slab letters, all black with that slightly sketchy fill you get from my software digitising. Then "cats" swoops through the middle in a brushy orange script with those long looping ascenders. The bottom word anchors in solid purple block caps. And right in the middle of it all theres a black cat silhouette sitting up straight with a curled tail, plus a tiny spider dangling off to the left and a lil bat in purple tucked underneath. Compact and busy and really fun.

Stitch count goes from 8,706 on the 3.68-inch wide size up to 17,617 on the big 6.43-inch version. Four sizes, 3 colour changes, 25 trims. That flowing orange lettering has the most thread path to cover, but its all satin column work so the machine handles it clean if your stabiliser is sorted. Use cutaway on knits and fleece. On woven cotton a tearaway does the job fine for the smaller sizes.

One customer placed an order last october for the largest size on black canvas totes and said she realy couldnt believe how crisp the cat silhouette came off the machine. That little cat is only a few hundred stitches but the software I use kept the outline tight so it doesnt blob even at 3.68 inches. And the spider legs are just jump stitches with trim ends so dont panic when you see 25 trims in the file.

Pop this on cream or white fabric and the black, orange, and purple all read instantly. Skip charcoal or dark navy because the dark word fills just disappear into the ground. Works beautifully on a hemp tote front, an orange cotton apron, a white linen trick-or-treat bag. Pair the smallest size on a pocket or onesie chest, put the big one across the back of a hoodie.

Hoop firm. The block letters need it, especially the wide slab serifs at the top. Slow your machine down about 20% for the dense purple section because wide fills can drag on thick canvas. Holler at me if the lettering pulls tight or the cat outline loses detail and Ill look at the underlay settings for your machine type.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween tote bags for trick-or-treatingStitch the big 6.43-inch version on a buff canvas tote for a trick-or-treat bag that stands out on the street.
  • Cat-themed costume tee shirtsPop the 4-in print on a black tee chest for a quick halloween costume that works for cat lovers.
  • Witchcraft shop merch and brandingA witchcraft shop owner told me she runs these on canvas bags as branded merch and customers love em.
  • Fall craft fair aprons and market bagsUse the medium size on an orange cotton apron for the craft fair table and it draws people straight over.
  • Kids halloween party favour pouchesEmbroider a 3.68-inch version on a small muslin pouch and fill it with candy for a party favour bag.
  • Black cat lover gift items year-roundCat people buy this one in october but also in march because the cat silhouette reads as a year-round statement.
  • Daycare teacher halloween outfit patchesStitch the small size on an iron-on patch backing and hand it to the daycare teacher as a costume accessory.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
