A customer wrote me last winter asking for a cat design that wasnt just a cat sitting there. A cat doing something. Reaching. Standing at full stretch with a paw extended toward a crescent moon thats just barely out of range. Theres a very specific feeling in that pose and I think thats why it keeps selling. Seven colours, 9 sizes from 2 inches to 4.36 inches wide.

The colour palette is what makes it work on so many different fabrics. Deep purple-blue layered fur, gold crescent, 7 colours total. Its not a realistic cat, its more like a fantasy illustration, and that gives it flexibility a standard cat design doesnt have. Run it on a dark navy canvas and the gold moon pops. Stitch it on pale linen and you get a cleaner graphic look. The tall narrow composition at about 7.5 inches high fits a pillow centre or a tote front without needing extra horizontal space. Add a light directional underlay first so the purple fill sections lay flat and dont pucker on the edge transitions.

Use a firm tearaway behind this before hooping. The design is tall and narrow, density sits at 1040, and it can shift during stitching if the stabiliser isnt snug. Stable wovens like canvas or cotton twill hold it clean. Avoid hooping anything stretchy without a cutaway base underneath, the cat body section will pull.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
