Six penguins grouped together and each one has a different size and posture. Big adult at the back-centre stands tall, another adult to the left holds wings slightly out like its keeping everyone steady. In front of them there are 3 chicks at various stages, one fluffy round one front-centre with its head tilted, one tiny one to the left wings spread wide, and an older juvenile to the right side still figuring out how to stand. Theres a seventh smaller figure in the background to the far right, almost like a penguin who wandered in from offscreen.
The drawing style is naturalist sketch, very fine line work. I been a fan of this kind of illustration since I used look at old field guides as a kid. Black outlines do the structure, the belly areas stay open and white, and theres a light stipple pattern on the chest feathers of the front chick that gives it texture without heavy fill. One of the central adults gets a medium blue fill on its back, which is I think what makes it read as the parent, it draws the eye. The rest stay in black and white line.
I sell this one mostly to customers doing nursery decor and winter-themed gifts. A customer last christmas ordered nine copies of the 7.5-inch for an antarctic nonprofit who wanted it on tote bags for a fundraiser. They wanted something that looked like a field journal illustration, not a kids cartoon, and this one fits that brief. Stitch on white or cream cotton for the cleanest read, the open belly areas need a pale ground to show the negative space. Works well on light blue chambray too. At 13,519 stitches on the full 7.5-inch its a fast project, nine sizes total. Hoop with topping on fleece or terry to stop the running stitch outlines sinking into the nap. Drop me message if the download gives trouble.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
