This duck is fully committed to the look and honestly its one of my favourites in the whole catalogue. The body feathers are layered in sky blue and teal with darker navy-teal in the shadow areas, so theres actual depth to the plumage rather than a flat colour block. Hot pink and magenta accent feathers fan out from the sides. The head is where it really goes for it though, a big hot pink bloom sits perched on top and fine curling feather tendrils shoot out around it in every direction like the best bad hair day you've ever seen. Orange bill, orange scaly legs, pink webbed feet, striding forward like it owns the place.
Nine colours and 8 thread changes. Density is around 900 spi delivers is well filled but not as heavy as the most complex designs, so stitch time is reasonable even at the larger sizes. The wild head feathers extend upward so the design is taller than its wide at most sizes, factor that into your hoop positioning. People have been buying the black canvas tote version at craft fairs last summer and the pinks against the dark background are quite vivid.
Stick tearaway underneath canvas and woven cotton. Switch to a cutaway on any knit or sweatshirt fleece so the dense sections dont pull up. Stitch on white, cream, black, navy, or teal where the pink accents really punch. Skip mid-grey, the peachy bill and leg colours can wash out a bit against it. Dm me if you run into anything odd with the file.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Kids novelty tees and sweatshirtsCentred on a white or black kids tee the bold colours read from across a room, no guessing what it is.
- Canvas tote bags and backpackscentred on a tote face the duck stands out at markets and people stop to look at it.
- Quirky adult apparel giftsStitched on a sweatshirt for a friend who collects bird things, it hits that fun novelty sweet spot perfectly.
- Kawaii and pop-art themed wall hoopsStretched on a 9 inch hoop with white cotton it makes wall art that always gets a comment.
- Duck-themed nursery decorAt smaller sizes on a cream nursery cushion it reads charming rather than loud, which works well for kids rooms.
- Spring and Easter novelty giftsAs a spring novelty beyond the obvious bunny designs this gets attention for being genuinely different.
- Flea market and craft fair merchandiseAt craft fairs finished hoops with this design move quickly because theres nothing quite like it.
- Embroidered denim jacket accentsAt the 4.5-in chest it fits neatly on a denim jacket sleeve and the detail stays crisp on that fabric.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
