Honest opinion first: this one took me longer to get right than I expected. The body alone has three flower colours nested into that navy tatami fill, and making sure the satin petals on the white daisies didnt bleed into the pink ones sitting right next to them meant a lot of underlay testing. Worth every pass though, its one of those designs where you pull it off the machine and just stare at it for a second.
The rooster stands in full profile, body done in a deep navy directional fill with that slight textile grain you get from tatami stitch. Scattered across the chest and belly are clusters of daisy flowers: crisp white ones with orange centres, blush pink ones, and a deeper dusty rose variety, all with those satin petals radiating outward. Green leaves thread between the blooms. Then the tail sweeps up in bold dark arcs and golden wheat sprays fan out from behind it, tipped with little red berry dots. Red comb and wattle at the top, amber legs at the bottom. Very Polish folk art, very kitchen-wall energy.
A crafter messaged me last week after putting the 6 inch on a linen tea towel and saying it was the rooster she had been searching for that wasnt cheesy. That made my day, honestly. Cut a cutaway stabiliser for anything stretchy, canvas and linen take this one beautifully without much fuss. The density sits around 884 stitches per square centimetre so dont skimp on backing or you ll get pull at the wheat stems. Hoop tight. Use a 75/11 sharp needle on wovens and you will be fine.
Stitch a topping of water-soluble film over towelling or fleece fabrics so those tiny daisy petals stay crisp and dont sink into the pile. Skip the jump stitches between colour blocks by trimming as you go, it reads so much cleaner on the front. Pick your bobbin thread to match the navy body and it disappears on the back completely.
Drop me a line if the registration slips a touch.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Farmhouse kitchen linen towelHonestly my favourite spot for this one is a natural linen tea towel, the navy pops perfectly on cream.
- Canvas tote bagCentre the 6 inch on the front panel of a canvas tote and it sits perfectly balanced, not too high, not too low.
- Denim jacket back panelNeeds a cutaway on stretchy tees but worth it, the wheat tail arcs look brilliant on denim.
- Quilt block centre patchA 4 inch fits a quilt block centre without crowding the surrounding patchwork, nice tight registration on that size.
- Apron bibApron bibs are a great fit, position it just below the neckline so the comb clears the pocket edge.
- Linen table runnerUse the 7 inch on a wide linen runner and let the tail spray toward one end for a natural diagonal flow.
- Framed hoop artFramed as hoop art on natural cotton twill it reads like a vintage folk print, realy striking on a shelf.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
