I drew this last january after a customer requested a sassy duck design. Yellow cartoon duck standing centre, arms crossed, tiny orange beak frowning, angled brows. The phrase Don't Duck With Me wraps around the duck in chunky hand-lettered text, mixing bold and script. The word DUCK flows around the bird shape. Funny and a touch sassy.

Now the sizes here are flexible. Nine sizes running from 2.87 by 3.51 inches climbing up to 6.15 by 7.51 inches at max width. Stitch counts go from 15792 on the small to 38340 on the largest. Density sits at 830 spi at the count, solid for a layered cartoon with bold text wrapping. Nine colours and eight changes, file digitised in embroidery software so the duck body and the text layers separate clean on the run sheet. Im usually polishing in my professional tool. Im surprised by that layer every time.

Id a customer last fall buying this for a halloween costume run, she placed the 6 inch wide version on a kids tee, she also did a 4 inch on tote bags. Use medium cutaway under stretchy knit fabric, body duck the and text layers wont line up if backing gives way. Pop a topping over the yellow feathers on terry, otherwise the colour sinks. Run file on test scrap before hooping if youre running the largest size, just to confirm colour stops align in your machine format.

Pair the yellow body with a polyester thread for a soft sheen. The black outline reads best in matte rayon so it grounds the cartoon shape cleanly above the text wrap.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Funny kids halloween tee frontKids halloween costume tee with a goofy cartoon vibe; my customer hooped this for a class duck-themed group photo last october.
  • Sassy birthday tee chest markSassy birthday tee chest mark for an attitude-heavy preteen, the text wrap reads even on a chest seam without crowding.
  • Quirky kitchen towel hemCotton flour-sack towel for a farmhouse kitchen gift; topping needed under the chunky letters or they sink at small sizes.
  • Duck themed tote bagsets the design off well on a sturdy canvas tote without backing fuss, the weave handles the layered cartoon edge clean.
  • Hunting cabin throw pillowAnniversary cushion gag gift for a couple in the rubber-duck collector world, hoop tight so the colour blocks dont skew.
  • Kids backpack name accentStitches dense enough to feel padded under a kids backpack zip; fusible keeps the duck flat across the nylon weave.
  • Diner staff apron pocketDiner apron pocket for a quirky breakfast spot owner; the dense yellow body holds through industrial wash cycles.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
