I drew this dragonfly floral wreath last summer when a customer asked for something garden-y but not all flowers. The dragonfly sits dead centre in a thin gold circle, wings stretched out, body in solid teal fill. And those wings are done with light directional stitches so they read see-through, you can almost see the canvas underneath em.
One pink lotus flower pokes in from the top right corner, breaking the circle. So the design isnt just a closed wreath, it has movement. Yellow centre on the flower, layered petals, and a couple of curly gold tendrils trailing off to balance it.
Stitch count runs 8.7k on the smallest size to about 17.7k on the largest, 9 sizes total ranging from 3.5 to 7-in wide max. Colour count is just 3, teal gold and pink, so its a quick stitch and threads dont swap alot.
But I gotta warn ya, that wing area is mostly outline work so dont push it onto a really dark fabric, the teal will get lost. Stitch on cream linen or a sage cotton tea towel for the best contrast. Hoop with a medium cutaway stabiliser, the open wing fill will pucker on jersey if you skip topping. Pop a layer of water-soluble on top for crisp lines.
Knock the chat box if any size renders soft on heavy denim.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Cream linen tea towels for the kitchenStitch on a cream linen or muslin tea towel, the gold circle pops on neutral fabric and the teal stays vivid.
- Cotton tote bags for garden centre staffPop the medium 5x7 size on a tote bag, leave the dragonfly slightly off-centre so the lotus reads top right.
- Quilted lap blankets for spring throwsCentre the largest size on a quilt block, frame it with thin floral border strips for a spring lap throw.
- Mum's birthday card and frame comboStitch the smallest size on linen and slip it into a 5 inch hoop frame, makes a cute mum's birthday gift.
- Sage green napkins for outdoor brunchRun the design on sage green cotton napkins, the colour palette plays nice with botanical table settings.
- Light cotton aprons for the gardener in your lifePlace the medium size on a canvas apron pocket, garden tools peek out below the dragonfly wreath.
- Pillow covers for a sun room or porch chairHoop on cream cotton then mount as a 14 inch pillow cover, works on a porch chair or sun room bench.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
