Worked up this mistletoe for anyone who wants a christmas accent that doesnt take up the whole hoop. Its compact. The sprig sits upright, two oval leaves spreading out each side, and the 3 cream berries at the tip are satin-stitched individually so they read as separate round shapes rather than blending into one blob. The bow at the base is full and tied-looking, with the two loop sections digitised in slightly different shading angles so theres dimension to the knot area.
3 colours total. Forest green for the leaves and stem, cream for the berries, cherry red for the bow. The colour sequence is logical so youre stitching it in 3 passes. Run this on white pique fabric with a light tearaway stabiliser and the small berry outlines come out sharp at every size, including the 1.5-inch miniature. Density is 419 which is solid without being heavy, good for light fabric and garment work. Use a 70/10 needle on the 1.5-inch hoop. Skip repositioning between repeat stitches, just re-hoop fresh fabric each time and the registration stays consistent.
4 sizes from 1.5 to 4.5 inches wide, stitch count from 2,233 to 6,859. Thats a quick stitch even on the largest size, most machines knock it out in under ten minutes. Ive had people use this one on gift bags, ornament fronts, and holiday aprons every december since I put it up. One customer ordered the 2-inch version last christmas week and stitched 24 of them onto cocktail napkins as party favours and said they were the hit of the night. The small sizes work well repeated across a tablecloth hem or stocking cuff in a row.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- White pique shirt pocket for a holiday party outfitThe 2-inch size on a shirt pocket reads clearly at a glance and doesnt overwhelm the fabric; tearaway works fine on most wovens.
- Christmas stocking cuff border repeated at small sizeRepeat the 1.5-inch version every 3 inches along a stocking cuff for a hand-stitched border effect that looks very traditional.
- Holiday gift bag front with the 2-inch versionStitch onto kraft paper or natural linen gift bag fabric before assembling for an attached decorative front panel.
- Tree skirt hem detail stitched in a row of fourFour 2-inch sprigs spaced evenly along the front hem of a tree skirt create a neat repeating border without much effort.
- Festive tea towel corner accent for a holiday kitchen setCorner placement on a tea towel in the 2.5-inch size keeps it from looking centred and obvious, more like a real hand-decorated cloth.
- Ornament front on felt with the miniature 1.5-inch hoopWhite or cream felt holds the satin berries perfectly for the miniature ornament size; back with iron-on stabiliser before cutting out.
- Gift wrap fabric bow accent on a handmade parcelStitch onto a cotton ribbon width or fabric strip then wrap it around a gift box as an alternative to a printed bow.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
