The kitten is sitting straight up with its paws tucked in front, totally still, wearing that bow tie like its been told to sit still for a portrait. The bow tie itself is fully detailed with a centre knot in separate satin fill and two wide lobes either side done in directional stitching so they have volume. Its the combination of the serious bow tie and the round dopey kitten face that makes people stop scrolling.
Seven colours with a high density at 900, the stitch count jumps from about 18k at the smallest 3.4-inch size up to 49k stitches at the full 7.28-inch version. Thats a lot of thread for a cat design but most of it goes into the body fill and the detailed tabby stripe layering on the head and back. Wilcom digitised the fur markings in multiple layers using tatami fill which is why the texture reads so well instead of flat colour. Use no-show mesh cutaway under this one because the high density will pull fabric without support.
My daughter asked for this on a personalised tote last christmas, she runs a small cat gift shop and wanted something that was funny but still looked polished. People have been requesting it on baby onesies too and the 3.4-inch size lands perfectly on a small chest panel. Message me if the size options arent quite right and Ill see what I can do.
Pop it on cream or white fabric so the tabby tones show up properly, the 7 colours include a couple warm greys that wash out on dark backgrounds. Use a medium or large hoop for the bigger sizes and make sure the fabric stays taut. Hoop any stretchy material over a cutaway to stop the dense areas from drawing in. Stitch it on a linen tote for a market bag that people will actually notice.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Cotton tote bags and canvas shoppersLinen or cotton canvas totes in cream or oatmeal show the tabby tones without losing the bow tie detail.
- Baby onesies and infant clothingThe 3.4-inch size fits nicely on baby onesie chest panels and the design still reads clearly that small.
- Personalised gifts for cat ownersThe funny formal concept makes it a strong choice for cat-lover gift items like pouches and card wallets.
- Framed fabric art and gift panelsStretched over a small frame and backed, the detailed 7.28-inch version works as a standalone art piece.
- Sweatshirts and casual hoodiesThe upright sitting pose fits sweatshirt chest panels naturally without needing extra border padding.
- Zip pouches and small accessoriesSmall zip pouches in neutral fabric let the character pop without competing colours in the background.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
