A row of little hearts hanging on a thin garland string, each one dangling at a slightly different angle so it looks like someone actually strung them up by hand. There are 3 colours in the design, the main hearts in red, a warm tan string running across the top, and a few smaller pink hearts tucked in between the red ones. Stitches out between 5,224 and 11,138 depending on the size you pick.
Its a border design so the dimensions are wide and short. Widest size is 7.5 inches across and only 2.6 inches tall. Smallest is 3.5 inches wide and just over an inch tall. That narrow footprint is what makes it so handy, it fits across a pocket edge a collar band a bag handle strap, all those places where a regular square design just wont fit.
I made this one thinking about valentines day home dec and table runners but I was suprised by where people actually use it. A customer this february told me she stitched it along the bottom hem of curtains in her girls bedroom as a valentines suprise, she did the full 7.5 inch version three times across. That looked amazing from the photo she recieved me. Honestly one of those designs that just punches above its stitch count.
Stitch it on linen, cotton canvas or twill. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven fabrics, it's low enough density that tearaway handles it cleanly. Avoid loose knits for a border like this, the line of the string needs a firm base to sit straight.
Add it to table runners, napkin hems or cushion borders. Text me if the file is missing anything and Ill resend straight away.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Valentines day table runnersRunning the border along both short ends of a linen table runner frames the table setting neatly for valentines dinner.
- Napkin and linen hem bordersStitched along the hem of cotton napkins in a set of four it makes a simple matching valentines table set.
- Tote bag handle strapsAlong a bag handle strap or just below the top opening of a tote it adds a subtle festive trim detail.
- Pocket edge decorationOn the front pocket of a shirt or jacket the short height means it fits without eating into the pocket opening.
- Curtain hem accentsThree repeats across a curtain hem in a childs bedroom creates a sweet seasonal accent that isnt permanent.
- Cushion border trimAlong the edge of a throw cushion cover it adds a decorative garland border that reads as intentional home dec.
- Valentines greeting card holder fabricStitched on a small fabric pouch or card holder the border wraps neatly and gives it a valentines gift feel.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
