Big shaggy fringe hanging over the eyes, lil butterfly landed right on the nose, that dopey endearing stare. This highland cow has the full farmhouse charm. The fringe is the hero, done in layered russet and warm brown strokes that go every direction like actual highland fur does. You can see individual hair clusters in the bigger sizes which is where that 89k stitch count at 7.5 inches goes. Its a proper stitch-out, not a quick job.
13 colours sounds like a lot and honestly it is alot of thread changes, but each one earns its spot. Butterfly wings alone use 3 shades, the eyes have a black pupil ring and a tiny highlight dot, and theres 2 different russet tones in the fringe to give it depth. The face palette sits in warm orange-brown territory with a cream muzzle. Colour changes land at natural break points so your machine wont be starting and stopping mid-fringe, which really helps on high-density runs.
Drop this on a white cotton sweatshirt and it looks like something from a boutique country lifestyle brand. Ive been getting messages from mums in farming communities for this one since I put it up, and a few customers have done matching sets for kids birthday parties. Last christmas one buyer ordered 6 different sizes for family members, smallest on a baby onesie, biggest on a fleece blanket. Both looked brilliant and she sent me photos.
Use a good cutaway stabiliser on jersey and fleece, the fur texture needs stable hooping or the directional fill stitches pull sideways. Tearaway works on firm cotton twill and canvas. Pop it on sage, cream, white or mustard and it shines. Skip dark or busy fabrics, the fringe detail just gets lost. Slow your machine when stitching the dense underlay section. Drop me a line if anything stitches funny and Ill fix it fast.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
