Shaggy highland cow face, head-on view. The fur is what sells this one, long directional stitches coming down over the forehead in chestnut layers, fading slightly lighter toward the muzzle. Short cream horns curve outward with a shading pass along the underside. Theres 3 colours and nine sizes in the file range, which means ya can fit alot of different hoop setups. Black nose sits centre-bottom, small and clean, keeping the focus on all that shaggy fur up top.
Wilcom EmbroideryStudio took the fur sequencing so the directional fill angles shift layer by layer across the fringe. Thats lil bit fiddly to digitise correctly but it makes a big difference to how the finished piece reads from a distance. Density runs at 495 stitches per inch, on the looser side. That actually works in your favour on linen and natural fabrics because the texture of the base cloth shows through and adds to the shaggy look without extra fill passes.
Last spring a customer asked for this on an oat linen tote bag and its honestly the pairing I recommend to everyone now. The chestnut thread against natural linen is a really good combination. Customers dont always think about cutaway stabiliser underneath linen, but even for a lower-density design like this one linen shifts under the needle more than cotton does. Pair with a 75/11 sharp needle for cleaner column entries on the horn sections.
Use the bobbin in a neutral cream to keep the underside tidy. Stitch the 3.5-inch version on a shirt pocket patch, the 5-inch on a tote panel, and the 7-inch on a pillow front if ya want something with a bit more presence. Skip the tear-away on loose weave fabrics, it pulls too much when youre removing it and the linen doesnt like the stress.
Five sizes from 3.51 inches to 7.51 inches. Stitch counts go from 10,112 up to 18,938. Straightforward hoop requirements across the board.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
