Its a honey bee, single black thread, sitting right on top of a section of honeycomb. The bee draws in that detailed naturalist style, you can see the individual wing veins as thin lines and the body stripes carry dense satin work so they have a raised, textured look. Six open hexagon cells sit in a grid behind it, which keeps the background from getting heavy and lets the bee stand out clearly.
One colour, all black, which sounds plain but looks really sharp on lighter fabrics. I stitched the 4 inch version on cream linen last spring and it came out like a little field-guide print, the kind of thing you'd actually frame. The wings have that almost transparent quality you get with fine outline stitching, which is hard to pull off at smaller sizes but the Wilcom digitising holds it.
Stitch count goes from just under 10,000 at the smallest size up to about 27,000 at the largest, so the bigger sizes take some time on the machine but the detail holds all the way through. Anchor with tearaway under wovens like cotton and canvas. Pop a cutaway on anything stretchy, and keep a topping sheet on terry or textured surfaces so those wing lines dont disappear into the loops.
Six sizes, roughly 2.3 inches up to 6 inches wide. I get messages now and then from people asking if it comes in more colours, and honestly I think the single black works better than it would with added fills. Skip pale yellow or beige backgrounds if you want the fine wing lines to stand out -- there isnt enough contrast on tones close to natural linen. Holler if something doesnt download right and ill get it sorted same day.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
