I drew the howling wolf head in pure sketch style, no fills anywhere. Profile view, muzzle pointing up at the moon, eyes closed, mouth open in mid howl. Thousands of short black stitches flow outward from the face like an ink pen sketch. Reads like a tattoo flash piece more than a typical embroidery.
Just one thread colour, black, but dont let that fool you on time. The piece runs from 9.7k stitches at the small size up to 23k at the big one because every fur stroke gets its own pass. I drew it tall and narrow on purpose, 3.4 inch tall maximum, which makes it ideal for a sleeve panel or the side of a cap rather than a chest piece.
Last month a customer messaged me wanting wolf merch for a craft brewery thats opening near a national park. He stitched the largest size on the back of black trucker hats and the design looked sharp against the dark fabric since the stitch white-on-black contrast popped. Sold through his first 60 hats opening weekend.
Five sizes total. Smallest 3.5 inch wide which fits a cap side panel or a small pocket detail. Largest goes 7.5 inch wide for a back panel or a centred shirt piece. Avoid going smaller than the 3.5 because the sketch detail starts blurring below that.
Best results come on dark cotton, black canvas, denim and felt where the black thread reads as solid line work. On light fabrics the design still works but loses the dramatic contrast. Use a tearaway behind cotton and canvas, switch to cutaway for fleece or jersey. Hoop tight and run the machine at medium pace because the dense fur strokes need clean placement. About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
