This kitten isnt just cute, its doing that thing where its staring at something just above you and it really feels like it might pounce. The fur explodes outward from the face in every direction, hundreds of fine lines radiating out like a firework. Tufted ears point straight up. Big wide eyes with a slightly intense expression. Long whiskers shooting out horizontally from the muzzle. If you look closely the fur stitches change direction depending on which part of the face youre looking at, cheeks go one way, forehead goes another, thats the directional stitching working properly.
Two colours. Just a light grey underlay and black for all the linework. 9 sized 3 to 7.5 to a 7.5 top, and the stitch count is genuinely low for a portrait piece, around 10k at the smallest and 19k at the biggest. I was suprised how clean the fur detail stays even at the smaller sizes. The fine hatch lines are tight enough that they hold together at 3.5 inches without merging into a blob. Wilcom kept the underlay light so it sits under the linework without bloating everything.
Text me if youre working on a custom pet memorial piece and want advice on sizing. Ive had customers pair this with their own cats name underneath in a matching thread and the result is kinda really moving. One customer ordered it last october for a memorial hoop after losing her cat and she said it looked just like her kitten. I get messages like that and it genuinely makes this job feel worth it.
Best on white or cream fabric where the grey and black lines read clearly. Light linen, white canvas, pale cotton jersey all work well. Skip any coloured fabric because the grey underlay disappears and you just get the black lines floating. Use tearaway on stable cotton, cutaway on jersey. Hoop snug, the fine fur lines pull slightly if theres any fabric slack. Pick the 5-inch for a tote bag or cushion, keep the smaller ones for pocket or bib placement. Text me a chat if the file misbehaves and Ill rework the punch.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
