Zip-up hoodies are honestly where this one lives. Im thinking a mum unzipping it on Mothers Day morning and just lighting up at what she sees. "Best" arcs across the top in chunky hot-pink cursive, then the middle row spells M-O-M in big applique-style block letters. The red and rose-mauve M letters carry dense satin stitching, but the O becomes a beige leopard-print heart shape with a tiny white heart punched right out of the centre. Its wild and sweet at the same time. "Ever" finishes the bottom in heavy black cursive. Four small hearts in pink, blush, and red scatter around the whole composition, ya cant quite look away from it.
Density sits around 718 stitches per square inch so the satin sections on those block letters lay flat without puckering. The 3.5 inch version drops onto a cotton baby onesie bib without crowding it, while the full 7.5 inch shows every leopard spot on a fleece blanket corner. Hoop your terry cloth with a cutaway stabiliser for durability, and use a water-soluble topping on the tatami-fill leopard heart so the directional stitches dont sink into pile. A teacher at a craft fair last week told me she ran the 5 inch across a canvas tote for her mums birthday and people kept stopping to ask where they could get one. Skip dark navy base fabrics unless you swap the blush and rose threads, those lil hearts basically disappear on anything too deep. Use a fresh 75/11 needle on denim and iron a tearaway patch under the applique area before you hoop.
