Pulled together this nautical anchor rope design after getting alot of requests for something with more weight to it. The anchor itself has a real solid feel, its main shaft and flukes filled with directional stitching that catches the light differently depending on the angle. And the rope wraps around the crossbar and shaft in a big coiling loop, its texture done in a tighter satin column so it sits proud against the anchor body underneath. Its genuinely one of those designs thats dense in all the right ways.
Its all 1 colour, just black, which keeps the thread changes to zero and makes it fast to run. Digitised in Wilcom with proper underlay on the flukes so the density holds up on thicker fabrics without getting stiff. Stitch count on the mid size runs about 17,237 stitches which is substantial but its not extreme for a piece this detailed. Youre getting alot of stitch coverage on the rope coil sections especially.
Comes in 4 sizes from 3.80 inches wide up to 7.51 inches. The smallest still reads clearly because the rope loops dont collapse even at that scale. Best results on navy cotton twill, denim, canvas or heavyweight fleece. Use a cutaway stabiliser, the anchor flukes have enough mass that tearaway can leave loose edges on knit fabrics.
I had a customer last christmas who used the large size on a navy canvas tote bag for a sailor gift and it came out real clean. Stitch it centred on a bag or jacket back, or use the smaller sizes for cap fronts and shirt pockets. Skip sheer or silky fabrics, the underlay needs something to grip.
Holler if the file throws any errors on your machine, I can resend in a different format no trouble.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Nautical tote bagsThe large 7.5 inch size centred on a navy canvas tote is a go-to for nautical gifts and marina gift shops.
- Sailing club jacketsPut the 5 inch version on the left chest of a fleece sailing jacket for a clean club or crew look.
- Denim shirt pocketsThe 4 inch size fits a denim shirt pocket area nicely for a workwear nautical vibe.
- Canvas beach bagsStitch the large size on a natural canvas beach bag for a coastal market or summer fair product.
- Dad cap frontsThe smallest 3.8 inch version still has enough detail to read well on a structured cap front.
- Boat crew uniformsWorks great on cotton twill boat crew shirts, the all-black keeps it professional and sharp.
- Coastal home decor cushionsHoop a piece of navy or cream linen for a framed nautical art panel or cushion cover.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
