This patriotic lettering layout splits into two parts and thats what makes it work. Up top theres a thick navy ribbon-style banner with bold white block lettering that says 4TH OF and a red firework rocket sitting to the right. Then below that the word July is stitched in this big sweeping red cursive script that takes up most of the lower half. Small five-pointed stars in white and blue dot around the composition, keeping that patriotic flag vibe going without cramming too much in.
The banner has a slight wave to it so it doesnt read as a flat rectangle. White letters sit clean inside the dark fill which gives strong contrast even at the smallest 3-inch size. The July script is the biggest stitch element here, the ascender on the J runs quite tall and the tail of the y loops back under with a flourish. I digitised this in Wilcom with 4 colour stops so the machine only pauses for thread changes at the banner fill, the script, white accent work and then the blue stars at the end.
I got an order for this last june from a buyer making tees for a family reunion cookout. She wanted something that photographed well outdoors in daylight, and the red-on-light-cotton version absolutely delivered that. Honestly if youre doing any kind of fourth of july party shirts this layout just reads well from a distance.
Stitch this on white or cream cotton first, the dark navy banner pops strongest on lighter grounds. But navy shirts work too if you swap white thread for the background letters. Skip stretchy jersey at the larger sizes, 23k stitches needs a stable ground to keep the script curves clean. Use a firm tearaway stabiliser for shirt fronts and a cutaway for anything structural like a bag or hat panel.
And go with the 5-inch or 6-inch size for tee chests, the 3-inch is better suited to pockets or towel corners. It ranges 3 inch through 7 inch wide so theres a fit for most hoop setups.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
