This is a peony done in the old redwork style and honestly it looks proper on linen. The whole flower is stitched in a single coral-red thread against a white ground. Big layered petals curl out from a dense tight centre bud, and underneath theres a spread of pointed leaves going in different directions. The kind of peony youd see in a vintage botanical print, all linework and no flat fill blocks.
Digitising this one carefully was important because redwork lives or dies on its outline precision. Wilcom handled the running stitch outlines and the satin column accents on the petal edges. At 16,580 stitches on 7-in jumbo.3-inch size its not a heavy design at all, the low density of 303 means it stitches quick and sits lightly on the fabric. 1 colour, 0 colour changes. Just load, hoop and go.
I been getting orders from customers doing grandmothers heirloom quilts and pillow sets, they want something classic that doesnt look digital. Last spring a customer messaged asking if the file works on a linen quilt backing. Yes it does. This one reads hand-stitched when its done well, place it centred on a 14-inch pillow and it fills the space without crowding.
Use a lightweight cutaway stabiliser on quilting cotton or linen. Tearaway works on tighter weave fabric but linen can shift so cutaway keeps it honest. Pair with cream thread for a softer warm look, or use the coral red for that sharp contrast on white linen. Try the 5-inch on a cloth napkin, its the right scale. Skip stretchy fabric here, the delicate outline paths need a stable base to stay precise.
Sizes go from 3.41 inches up to 7.3 inches in nine steps so you can fit it on a pocket, a cushion or a quilt block. Ping me if you need the file in a different colour thread code and Ill sort it quick. Drop me a line if the download hits any snags and Ill fix it.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
