Knocked out this balloon bundle design for people doing bold birthday apparel, the red and black combo gives it a graphic punch that the usual pastel balloon designs just dont have. Its a classic balloon cluster shape, balloons at different heights overlapping slightly, curling ribbon strings falling from the base, nothing complicated in the layout but the two-colour contrast does all the work.
Just 2 colour changes, which makes this one of my easier pieces to run through a machine. Five sizes from 3.1 to 6.63 inches wide, stitch count running from 10,653 on the smallest to 30,124 on the 6.63 inch version. The balloon fills run in satin stitching with directional passes that give each balloon a subtle rounded sheen, and the outlines and strings come in tight satin columns in black. Density is 605 which is solid without being punishing.
People keep ordering this for adult birthday parties, the bold colours read as celebratory without looking kiddish. One customer told me she used it on a plain black tee for her best friends 30th and the reaction from their guests caught her off guard, everyone thought it came off a printer not a needle. Best on plain white, cream or light grey fabric where the red really pops. Try it on plain black fabric too if you swap to a white thread for the balloons, it flips the whole vibe into something more dramatic. Back with cutaway most fabrics given the stitch density, tearaway works fine on tightly woven cotton if its a smaller size.
