Four words, four lines, one very accurate description of a golf round. Its swing, swear, drink, repeat in big bold block capitals, stacked up like a poster print. Ive had this one in the shop awhile and it keeps movin because theres genuinely no better gift for the recreational golfer who takes the game just seriously enough to be furious at it. Two colours in the design: black for the main lettering mass and dark green for a second layer that gives the text some depth and a golf-y colour palette. A lil bit cheeky but it lands every time.
5 sizes in the download, 4 inches square up to eight inches square. Stitch counts run from about 13,494 at the 4-inch to 31,487 at the 8-inch, which is a pretty hefty run at the top end so make sure your machine can handle it before choosing the largest. Density is around 490 stitches per square inch throughout, so the satin columns are tight and opaque. Two colour changes per size, the green layer sits underneath or alongside the black depending on the specific letterform sections.
Stitch this on a structured surface where the square format shows up well. A standard 5x5 or 6x6 hoop setup on a fleece zip-up works well, and a cutaway stabiliser is the go on anything stretchy. The block lettering is dense enough that it can sink into towelling or loopy fabrics without proper backing, so use a water-soluble topping on terry cloth or waffle-weave materials. My partner bought a golf jumper last christmas and I stitched a 6-inch build on the chest, came out sharp on the white weave.
A customer grabbed this bunch of sizes for a golf club fundraiser back in June, they ran the 5-inch across a whole batch of cotton totes. Add a name underneath in a second run if youre making personalised gift sets. Avoid the largest size on thin jersey, it needs a stable woven or mid-weight knit to sit flat.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Golf polo or fleece zip-up front chest embroideryThe 5-inch sits comfortably on a polo or fleece chest without reaching the zipper or collar seam
- Golf bag accessory pouch or headcover front panelThe 4-inch square fits most headcover front panels with a centimetre of clearance on each side
- Embroidered baseball cap crown panel for a golferA structured snapback crown panel takes the 4-inch cleanly on medium-stiff canvas
- Personalised golf towel as a birthday or christmas giftCorner placement on a standard 16x25 inch golf towel fits the 4-inch with clean margins
- Cotton canvas tote for a golf club fundraiser or raffleA natural cotton tote takes the 6-inch version across the front panel with room for a name below
- Embroidered patch for a golf society jacket back yokeThe 6-inch version works across a standard jacket back yoke without hitting the shoulder seams

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
