Cooked up a sad ghost in 2 colours and its kind of relatable how much personality white and black can carry. Two small oval eyes tipped upward at the inner corners so the brows angle in, that furrowed worried look. The mouth curves downward into a proper frown, no ambiguity there. And at the bottom right a little tentacle-tail pokes out slightly to the side like it cant even float straight, it's drooping. The whole silhouette is lopsided in that endearing way, not symmetrical, which is what gives it character rather than just looking like a failed ghost attempt.
Two colours only, nothing else. No grey, no accent colour. The simplicity is actually the point, the expression carries everything. White tatami fill for the body, black satin for the outline, the oval eyes and the frown detail. Density is 538 stitches per square inch and the biggest size at 5 by 4.12 inches runs 11,086 stitches. Stitches out nice and quick for a filled design. The 2 by 1.65 inch smallest size is really just a little ghost blip at 3,173 stitches, barely five minutes of machine time.
Four sizes total from 2 inches wide up to 5, so youve got a badge-size right up to a proper shirt centrepiece. Ive had customers tell me they bought this one specifically because theyre over the aggressive Halloween aesthetic and wanted something that felt more gentle and humorous. One customer ordered a batch for tote bags she was selling at a craft fair, she called them her sad ghost bags, apparently they outsold everything else on the table by a large margin. Hoop with medium cutaway, standard sharp needle, no special handling needed for this one.
Good on black, orange or even pale sage fabric if youre going for a softer Halloween palette. The simple two-colour design means it also prints cleanly on light fabric without any fill-sink drama. Works nicely on trick-or-treat bags, Halloween mugs made from faux suede, shirt fronts and seasonal tote bags. Lightweight fabric is the sweet spot. Heavy denim or fleece blurs the little mouth curve and the eye angle is too fine for deep pile.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
