I get a lot of requests for space designs and Saturn always comes up. This one shows the planet with its rings in soft purple and pink tones, not the realistic grey-brown you'd see in a textbook but the kind of dreamy pastel palette that actually looks amazing on fabric. The rings wrap around at a slight angle and the planet body has a subtle shading to it, soft and rounded rather than flat. Its got this quiet otherworldly feel, like something between a science poster and a watercolour print.
No dimension data in the file record but the ring structure means you want at least a mid-size hoop for it to read well, too small and the ring detail loses definition. Stitch count is moderate, maybe three or four colour stops for the planet body, rings, and shadow tones. Tearaway stabiliser is fine on a jacket back or denim; for stretchy knit fabric swap to cutaway to keep those ring lines crisp. Keep hoop tension even because the curved ring lines will show any slack immediately.
This one gets used on kids space-themed jackets a lot, usually on the back or left chest. A friend of mine ran it on a black canvas tote and the pastel palette popped in a way I didnt expect. Also works really nicely on bedroom cushion covers for a little space explorer room, or on a zip pouch for someone who loves that aesthetic. If you want a cleaner two-colour version just use the planet body in one thread and the rings in another, drop the shading stops.
Drop me a chat note if the ring sizing isnt working for your hoop and Ill sort it out fast.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Kids jacket back placementBlack or navy kids bomber jackets carry the pastel planet colours better than any other base, the contrast is really satisfying.
- Left chest tee print-styleA left-chest placement on a plain tee keeps it subtle but recognisable to anyone who loves space.
- Canvas tote center panelNatural canvas tote bags let the purple and pink tones stand out without competing with a busy background colour.
- Bedroom cushion coverKids bedroom cushion covers in white or grey fabric make the planet feel like a little artwork sitting on the bed.
- Canvas zip pouch frontZip pouches in black canvas make this feel like a boutique stationery item, the kind you'd find in a museum gift shop.
- Space-themed nursery hoop artA nursery hoop with the planet on its own in soft pastel thread is a nice gender-neutral option for a space-themed room.
- Backpack patch panelIron-on patch panels on backpacks are a popular use, especially for school-age kids who want something a bit different.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
