Cat curled up in a tight sleep ball, tail looped around the body, face tucked toward the chest with eyes shut in that completely boneless sleeping position every cat owner recognises instantly. The fur uses directional satin sections that shift angle between the head, back, and tail areas, giving the coat that overlapping short-hair texture rather than a single-angle flat fill. Small markings, tabby stripe hints and a soft inner ear, add character without crowding the composition. Mapped this one in professional embroidery software and the 6 colour build runs the main fur sections first, then the fine detail work layers in on top, density at 897 so coverage is full without being stiff on softer fabrics.
9 sizes spanning from 3.51 to 7.51 inches wide, heights run 3.25 to 6.97, so its close to square in aspect ratio. Stitch counts open at 20,659 and reach 46,967 at the biggest size, a mid-to-heavy range that reflects the fur texture detail. My niece asked me last year for a sleepy cat design on a tote she uses for her art supplies, and this was the one I built for that. She still carries it and a customer who saw the photo of it on my workbench ended up ordering the same design for a similar bag. Its the kind of piece you actually want on your everyday carry rather than just a gift you give once.
Tape a thick backer under any stretch feline-owner fabric, fleece, sweatshirt cotton, or jersey, so the directional fur sections dont drag across the grain during stitching. Use tearaway under woven quilting cotton for clean backing removal on the stripe detail edges. Add water-soluble topping over terry or velour before the fine ear and nose detail stitches so the pile doesnt swallow the small colour changes. Best on light or mid-tone backgrounds: white, oat, blush, sage, or soft blue so the warm tabby colours sit cleanly. Avoid dark charcoal or navy unless you swap to a lighter thread palette for the main body fill.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
