The snake winds up from the bottom, tail curling loose, body threading right through the stems of 2 open roses. Its head tilts back at the top with the mouth just slightly parted, tongue tip barely visible. The roses are big and soft pink, petals layered back in a realistic bloom shape, not a cartoon version. Green serrated leaves sit on both sides filling the gaps so nothing looks sparse.
Colour wise its 9 total and professional embroidery software pulled that charcoal serpent with lighter cream highlights running along the spine scales. Its the contrast between that dark textured coils and the blush pink petals thats gives the whole piece its gothic tattoo look. Directional stitching on the coils means each scale catches light differently depending on the fabric angle. Satin columns on the stem and leaf edges keep edges sharp.
I drew this one last spring after getting alot of requests from people who wanted something gothic but not full-on skulls and darkness. The snake rose combination is basically a tattoo classic and I wanted to bring that same old-school flash art feeling into machine embroidery. One customer bought the 7-in span for a denim jacket back panel and she sent photos, it looked like an actual sleeve piece.
Best on dark fabrics honestly. Black cotton, charcoal twill, deep navy denim, burgundy fleece all make those pink petals really punch. Avoid white or pale grounds because the snake body blends in and you lose the drama. Hoop firmly on woven fabric, the density sits at 31k stitches on the biggest size so a good cutaway stabiliser is what keeps everything locked down.
And the smallest size at just under 13k stitches works nicely on a chest pocket or a small canvas tote panel if ya want something subtle. Holler if the file doesnt load right on your machine and Ill fix it up same day.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
