Drew up this one as a proper crouching Spider-Man, low to the ground with both arms stretched out wide and fingers spread like hes about to launch a web. The pose is the classic comic book sneak that anyone who grew up reading Marvel will recognise straight away. The mask eyes are the oversized white lenses with that angled intensity that makes Spidey look serious even in a small embroidered version.

6 colours in the design: dark red, red, blue, white, black and dark blue. The web lines across the suit are done with fine black satin columns so they actually look like a mesh, not just printed on. Directional stitching on the torso follows the muscle lines which gives it that three dimensional quality. Stitch counts run from 9,215 at 4 inches up to 21,613 at the full 8 inch size. 5 sizes total.

Because theres 6 colour stops you want a good dense cutaway stabiliser underneath, especially on stretch fabrics like jersey. This design has high density at around 568 stitches per inch in the main torso, so the underlay needs to be solid. I dont recommend linen or loose weave fabrics for this one, stick to cotton twill, denim, canvas or fleece where the stabiliser can do its job properly.

Ping me a quick note if you want to swap any of the colours. A customer last month asked me to swap the blue panels for black and I walked em through it, works great for a noir version of the design.

Best results on dark navy, charcoal or white backgrounds where the red and blue colours really pop against the fabric. Skip dark fabric for the colour pop. Pop a firm cutaway behind stretch knits.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids superhero birthday shirtsA 5 inch version centred on a white cotton tee is the go-to choice for superhero birthday party outfits for boys aged 4 to 10.
  • Boys bedroom pillow accentStitched on a navy blue pillowcase the large 7 inch version makes a fun bedroom accent that any Marvel-obsessed kid will love.
  • Marvel fan jacket back panelThe 8 inch version on the back of a black denim jacket is the kind of piece that gets noticed at conventions and fan meetups.
  • Comic con costume accessoriesSmaller 4 inch versions stitched on canvas pouches or crossbody bags make great comic con accessory pieces.
  • Superhero theme party bagsA 3 to 4 inch version stitched on a drawstring cotton party bag ties together a superhero theme birthday without buying printed bags.
  • Boys school backpack patchThe 4 inch size on the front pocket of a canvas school backpack is subtle enough for everyday use but still reads clearly.
  • Dad and son matching hoodiesTwo matching hoodies with the same 5 inch Spidey chest patch make a popular gift set for superhero-loving dads and their kids.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
