This scorpion is all attitude. Claws up, tail arched high, the whole thing built from thick black satin fills with red fire licking up from underneath. The flame shapes arent just decoration either, theyre woven right into the body outline so it looks like the scorpion is burning from the inside. Alot of tribal scorpion designs I see look flat and stiff but this one has movement.

2 colours: Black body with Red flame work, 1 colour change. Nine sizes wait, thats wrong, there are 5 sizes in the file, beginning with the pocket size reaching 3.51 inches square and topping out at 7.51 by 7.50 inches at the largest. Stitch counts run from 20,816 to 49,742. Density sits at 883 so its a bit lighter than you might expect and stitches out fast without stiffening the garment underneath.

Hoop a firm cutaway stabiliser and youre good. The black sections are the densest, especially around the claw joints and the tail curl, so dont skimp on the backing. Light-coloured stabiliser can peek through on loosely woven fabrics so stick with the colour that matches your base cloth.

Stitched this on a black gym vest last month for a customer, the 5-inch version, and it came out clean with really sharp satin edges on the claw outlines. That version sits at around 27,000 stitches which machines eat through no problem.

Sketched up for dark and heavy fabrics mostly. Centre-back placement on a biker vest at the 6-inch size gives you the most impact if youre going bold.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Centre back on a black biker vest or leather jacketThe 7.51-inch size covers a full back panel of a biker vest cleanly without needing rescaling.
  • Large left chest hit on a dark gym hoodieDark fleece hoodies hold the dense black satin without flagging on the underlay.
  • Full front design on a heavyweight black teeHeavyweight 100% cotton tees need a medium-to-firm cutaway to stop any pull on the claw sections.
  • Patch base on denim for iron-on backingIron-on patch backing works best with the 3.51-inch size hooped on twill fabric.
  • Side panel on a gym bag or duffleSide panels on gym bags get the most wear and cutaway backing keeps the design intact long-term.
  • Left sleeve on a sports performance jacketLeft sleeve placement at 4 to 5 inches shows well without wrapping the seam.
  • Hat brim or structured cap crown panelCap crown panels need the 3.51-inch smallest size and a stiff topping layer over knit fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
