An airplane silhouette crosses a layered sunset sky, one palm tree in the foreground reaching up toward the flight path. The sky is banded in 8 colours: deep violet at the top, dropping through coral and warm orange down to a golden amber glow along the horizon. Reach out if you want a specific colour match for your thread brand and I can note the closest equivalent for you. The palm is a near-black silhouette against all that colour, which makes the whole thing pop. Its one of those scenes thats instantly recognisable to anyone whos ever watched a plane disappear toward the horizon at dusk.
Four sizes from just under 4 inches up to 7 inches wide, heights between 3.89 and 6.8 inches. Stitch counts go from 16,767 to 36,182, so its a denser piece at 760 density. Use a firm stabiliser on woven fabrics, press a heavy cutaway behind knits before you hoop. Built in industry tools with careful directional satin on the sky bands so the colour transitions read cleanly in thread without muddying. One customer had this stitched onto a linen carry-all bag last December as a gift for someone who travels for work and said it looked like a painting, which I still think about. Thats the kind of reaction that makes a dense 8-colour design worth the stitch time.
Hoop denim, canvas, or medium-weight cotton tightly and run a slow speed setting on the dense sections. Best on light or mid-tone fabrics where the violet and orange tones can register. Dont try this on anything sheer or loosely woven at the larger sizes, the column work needs a stable base. Avoid busy-patterned cloth that would compete with the layered sky.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Travel-themed tote bags and canvas carry-alls as giftsThe 7-inch version on a natural linen tote looks almost like a screen print, makes a thoughtful handmade travel gift.
- Backpack patches and luggage tags for frequent travellersCentre the 4 inch hoop on a backpack patch base with a cutaway backing before sewing it onto the bag.
- Cotton pillow covers for a travel or wanderlust bedroom decorUse at the 5-inch setting on a plain cream linen cover for a clean, framed wall-art feel.
- Denim jackets with a travel-collector patch aestheticWorks well on the back panel of a denim jacket when the dark palm silhouette contrasts against the indigo fabric.
- Framed embroidery art pieces for home or office wallsMount in a 6-inch hoop on natural linen for a ready-to-hang wall piece without any additional framing.
- Personalised travel journals and notebook coversUse the smallest size on the corner of a thick cotton notebook cover for a subtle travel accent.
- Kids room decor for airplane or adventure nursery themesThe airplane silhouette at 4 inches reads clearly on a pale blue nursery wall quilt backing.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
