Six colours, 10,975 stitches at the smallest size. Each letter in LOVE is actually a pair of lips, the L shaped by one kiss, the O by another, V and E carrying on the same cheeky idea. Six colours in the whole build, running from hot pink through red, deep rose, coral, dusty mauve and a near-cream highlight. Thats alot of colour changes but the result reads instantly as a Valentine piece without needing any additional text around it. Runs from 3.51 inches across at the smallest up to 7.51 inches on the widest size, with stitch counts between 10,975 and 27,206 depending on the size you pick.
Back it with a sturdy cutaway stabiliser and use a wash-soluble topping on any fabric with a nap, like fleece or velvet, so the satin lips dont sink into the fibres. At the tighter density of 616 the satin stitch areas build up quickly, so slow your machine down on the first pass through the darker colours. Ive run this on a bubblegum-pink cotton jersey and it looked brilliant, the lip shapes stayed crisp even where the hooped fabric had a bit of give.
A customer ordered a batch of canvas pouches last february for a galentines gathering and sent me a pic. The 5 inch version filled the front panel just right. The letters are bold enough to read from a distance so it works on larger items too, tote bags and aprons especially. Pair with a plain solid-colour ground fabric because this design really doesnt need any competition.
Stitch the smaller 3.51 inch size on a shirt pocket or sleeve for a subtler take. Pop it on a red flannel shirt and the colour-block lips catch everyones eye straight away. Add a light satin sheen to your thread choice and the lips look extra glossy.
Anywhere there are no issues with the six-colour sequence, youll find the run is actually pretty quick because the density keeps the stitch count manageable. Drop a chat if you want the order rearranged, happy to sort that out for you. Drop an order and it downloads right away.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
