Big black witch hat sitting on top of a unicorn cat face, thats basically the whole idea here and it works really well. The hat has an orange square buckle at the brim and a gold-orange horn poking out from underneath. Orange cat ears flank either side, and a little spider with a round cartoon body dangles on a single thread from the hat brim. Theres a flat bat silhouette off to one side and a scatter of orange star dots filling the negative space around the face.
Built in professional digitising software with 3 colour stops across 6 sizes, going from 2.5 inches climbing to 7.5 inches. Smallest size comes in at 6,552 stitches, the full 7.5 inch version hits 25,833. Density is 472, which gives the black hat fill a smooth, even surface without any gapping. Drop a medium cutaway underneath before you hoop this, the black fill sections are large enough that a tearaway wont hold the shape after washing.
A customer used this on personalised Halloween treat bags for a school fundraiser last year and said the spider was what made every kid stop and point at it. Thats usually how it goes with the small accent pieces. And yes, the 3-stop colour order matters here, do the orange before the black so the hat outline sits on top clean.
Stitch it on cotton canvas, black felt, or orange denim for the most contrast. Pair it with a complementary font below if youre doing personalised bags, the open area under the chin is just right for adding a name. Dont run this on anything loosely woven without a stabiliser topping, the star dots are small and they need a firm surface to register properly. Theres also a nice version on cream linen where the black really pops.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Halloween treat bags and goodie pouchesRun the 4-in feature on a flat canvas pouch so the hat silhouette sits centred without crowding the zip.
- Kids costume accessories and patchesBack with a firm cutaway and sew onto a black felt patch for a no-sew iron-on costume accessory.
- Cat lover tote bags and zipper pouchesThe orange and black palette makes this a natural fit on a plain tote for a cat-loving customer who wants subtle seasonal flair.
- Seasonal canvas shopping bagsAt 7.5 inches on a natural cotton shopper, the full design reads from across the room and makes a solid impulse buy at markets.
- Halloween party decor pillowsCentred on a 16 inch throw pillow cover it gives the right scale without the design getting lost in the fabric texture.
- Personalised kids backpack patchesStitch the 2.5 inch version onto a backpack strap tab for a tiny but recognisable Halloween accent.
- Autumn craft fair vendor stock itemsBatch this at the 4-in feature on black felt pouches for vendor table stock that moves fast in October.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
