11 colours and a big stitch count make this the afro girl sunflowers portrait Im most proud of. Shes got a full natural afro and two sunflowers tucked right at the crown, petals fanning out wide across the top. The face has proper skin tone layering, warm brown base, lighter highlights on the cheekbones, deep contrast around the eyes.

And the hair is the real technical challenge. Short directional stitching across the whole rounded dome gives it actual texture instead of just a flat brown fill. Ive watched this one come off the hoop looking like a printed illustration when its hooped right. The sunflower petals use satin columns with underlay so theyre raised and clean. Stitch count goes up to 48,024 on the large sizes so youll need a solid cutaway stabiliser, dont skip that.

I get messages from customers who stitch this on tote bags for natural hair events and graduation gifts. One woman told me she did the 5-in centre on a navy canvas tote for her daughter's birthday last spring. She came back for 3 more designs after that.

Comes in 8 sizes from 3.5 inches wide cap at 7 inches. Its best on medium-weight cotton, denim or canvas. Skip thin jersey for the big sizes since that stitch density can pucker the fabric even with good hooped stabiliser placement.

Use a light tearaway on the outer petals if youd like them sitting flatter. Hit me up if any file has a load error and Ill fix the file fast.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
