Two irregular ink-splash shapes overlap in the centre, one a terracotta brown and one a soft sand tan, with cream linen tatami fill bleeding out from behind em. No hard outlines on the splashes, the edges are organic and ragged the way actual ink looks when it hits fabric. Across the middle the word Melanin runs in bold black block capitals, the letters built from dense satin fill. Below that in a looser cursive, Beauty sweeps across in black script.
Its honestly the simplest file in terms of thread changes but the layering of those 3 skin-tone fills is what makes it work. Four colours total, 3 stops. Wilcom kept the density at 444 stitches per square inch so it lays flat even on lighter fabrics. Smallest size at 3.11 x 4.51 inches is only 8,597 stitches, thats a fast stitch-out. The biggest at 7.51 x 5.18 inches is 17,268, really manageable.
This started as a commission from a makeup artist in london who wanted something for her kit bags and product packaging. She stitched the mid-size on cream canvas pouches last autumn and it looked like actual product branding. Suprised me how clean it came out on the first test. Since then I get orders from lash techs, estheticians, nail artists, and cosmetics brand owners who want a non-face design that still speaks to melanin and beauty.
Stitch on black, cream, white or navy for best contrast. Skip medium-value backgrounds like tan or caramel because the terracotta splash disappears. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton and canvas, switch to cutaway if youre hooping it on stretchy jersey. Pair the 6.5-inch size on canvas totes with the business name stitched below in block letters. Dm me if something looks off on the splash edges and ill check the underlay settings for ya.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
