Mocked up a lot of bow designs before landing on this approach. Most bow designs stitch flat and end up looking like a tied shoelace. This one reads like an actual piece of ribbon fabric because of how the fills are digitised. Each section of the bow loop has its fill direction following the drape, so the stitch angle shifts at the folds and the bow reads as something three-dimensional. The knot in the centre is a small gathered circle with its own tight satin fill that sits slightly proud of the wing panels.

The surface pattern is camouflage, but make it pink. Large soft blotch shapes in dusty pink and warm cream sit across the full ribbon surface with dark rose-pink outlines tracing the fabric fold lines underneath. Seven colours, so the stops are frequent, but each stop is a clean tonal shift, no harsh jumps. The trailing ribbon ends hang down from the knot and have the same drape-direction fill as the wings. Theres even a thin near-black accent line running along the ribbon edges that reads as a satin sheen highlight and keeps the silhouette looking clean, no blobby edges.

Biggest size is 7.36 by 7.5 inches, smallest 3.44 by 3.5. Stitch count hits 42k at the top end, so its a 35 to 40 minute run on a commercial machine. A customer who makes personalised girl gifts stitched the 5-inch on the front of a dusty pink zip-up hoodie last December and said every single person who saw her daughter wear it asked where it was from. Thats usually a good sign. Use the medium to large for anything you want the pattern to show at full scale.

Hoop with a medium cutaway stabiliser. If youre stitching on a knit like a hoodie or sweatshirt, add a second tearaway layer on top of the cutaway so the dense fill doesnt drag the fabric. Run the colour stops in order, the fold-line outlines come after the fill passes for each panel and if you re-order them the bow loses its sheen effect. Keep running speed at 650 SPM max on the larger sizes. Email me your order number and Ill suggest tension settings if the fold outlines are pulling the satin fills underneath.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
