This tiara sits wide and low, about two and a half times wider than it is tall at the 5 inch size, which is exactly the proportion you want for something that reads as a crown without dominating the garment. The centre point rises with a small fleur finial at the top, then drops into the main scrollwork body which is all tight Victorian curls and leaf shapes. Running along the bottom edge theres a line of dot-bead satin bumps that mimic the look of pearls or gemstone settings. The outer ends spiral into large volutes that anchor onto the headband bar at each side.

One colour only, a warm gold-orange thread, which means zero stops during the stitch run. The stabiliser question comes up alot with this design since its quite open in the middle sections. Use a cutaway on any knit fabric and a medium tearaway on wovens. The density is 523 at the 5 inch, which is moderate, so it wont buckle lightweight cotton but I would avoid thin chiffon or voile where the underlay could show through the weave.

Five sizes from 5 inch wide up to 9 inch wide, stitches going from 11,942 to 20,669. Last autumn I had a customer order this for a batch of flower girl sashes and she said the 7 inch size sat perfectly centred across a 3 inch ribbon width. The 5 inch works on a pocket or a birthday sash. The 9 inch is a proper centrepiece for a pillowcase or the back of a jacket. Hoop with the grain of the fabric, not against it, and the scrollwork lines will lay flat.

Runs cleanly on cotton, linen, felt and medium canvas. On felt especially the open centre sections look clean because theres no fabric texture competing with the thread. Skip stretchy jersey without cutaway. All 8 formats included. Good for bridal showers, quinceanera gifts, birthday sashes.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Girls birthday party sashesStitch the 7 inch on a wide ribbon sash for a birthday girl and it reads as a custom piece not from a party shop.
  • Flower girl ribbon or sashOn a 3 inch satin ribbon the 7 inch centres perfectly, which is why flower girl sashes work well with this.
  • Bridal shower tote bagsUse the 5 inch on a canvas tote for a bridal shower bag, pair with a name in text below for something personal.
  • Quinceanera keepsake pillowThe 9 inch centred on a quinceanera throw pillow makes a keepsake gift that outlasts the celebration.
  • Crown themed kids backpackPop the 5 inch on a kids backpack pocket flap in gold on navy for an easy princess look with no fuss.
  • Princess bedroom pillow centrepieceA 7 inch on a cream pillow cover turns a plain bedroom pillow into something that fits a princess room.
  • Halloween costume bodice detailThe scrollwork reads as costume jewellery on a bodice panel stitched in gold on black velvet for Halloween.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
