Shes a side-profile portrait, face turned just right, and the first thing ya notice is the natural afro. Its big, full and done with directional stitching that actually reads like curl texture rather than a flat black dome. Theres a white highlight streak running through the crown which is what separates this from other afro portrait designs Ive done. It gives the hair a 3D quality that customers always comment on.

The face details are precise. Pink oval sunglasses sit on the nose, the lenses rendered in pale pink satin with thin black frames. A hot pink stud earring at the ear, pink lip gloss on the lips, and a row of small pink bead dots running along the collarbone. The skin is done in warm brown fill with a deeper tone at the jaw line for facial shading. 6 colours total, 5 colour changes. Sizes run from 3.5 inches 7.5 in upper across five cuts.

I sell a lot of these to natural hair salons who put it on their aprons, mirrors and salon totes. One salon owner in atlanta ordered this on black cotton totes for all her stylists last october and sent me photos. The 7.5-inch on a black tote genuinely looks like a studio print. I also get regular orders from model agencies making welcome packs for new talent sign-ups.

Stitch on black or charcoal for best impact, the warm brown skin tones and hot pink accessories sit really beautifully against dark fabric. Avoid pale cream or white grounds here because the skin fill loses definition. Use cutaway stabiliser if youre stitchin on jersey or knit. Tearaway works fine on woven cotton or canvas tote fabric.

Densest section is the afro crown at 47k stitches on the biggest size. Hoop very tight and ease machine speed through the directional curl fill. That section has alot of needle travel and if the hoop slips even slightly the texture lines break apart. The 3.5-inch small size runs just under 13k and stitches out clean even on a budget home machine.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
