Honestly this one sells itself. Its a black cat sitting completely upright, staring directly at whoever is looking at it, and somewhere in the design is the text Im watching you in a lil lowercase scrawl beneath it. Two colours total -- solid black for the whole cat body including the detailed fur texture satin on the face and ears, and a bright highlight colour for the eyes and text. The eyes are wide open and centred, which is what gives it that funny suspicious expression that cat people immediately recognise. Density is 856, enough to get the black satin crisp and clean.
Five sizes from 3.16 by 3.5 inches at 14355 stitches up to 6.78 by 7.5 inches at 43521 stitches. Use a medium cutaway stabiliser on everything for this one, black satin at 856 density needs proper backing. On dark fabrics, switch to charcoal or very dark navy instead of true black to get some edge separation. Add a thin white running-stitch underlay outline to define the ears on dark backgrounds -- a bunch of customers have found this makes a big difference. Stitch the text in a contrasting cream or yellow to keep it readable at smaller sizes. Skip a light tearaway here, it wont give enough hold at 43521 stitches on the large.
Cat people go wild for this one. Its probably the most-gifted funny cat design I sell, showing up on everything from witchy halloween sweatshirts to kitchen tea towels. Best results Ive had are on natural white cotton or light grey jersey. One customer last spring put the 6.78-inch version on a canvas tote bag in white and grey thread and it looked genuinely sharp.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Funny cat lover birthday shirtThe 5-inch version on a white t-shirt or light grey sweatshirt is the most popular placement, chest centre or left chest.
- Halloween sweatshirt cat designThe wide 6.78-inch size on a halloween sweatshirt is a great gift, black on black with white eye highlights looks dramatic.
- Kitchen tea towel for cat ownerRun the 3.16-inch size on a tea towel corner, white base cloth makes the black and white design really pop.
- Canvas tote for black cat fanCentre the 5-inch version on a canvas tote, natural and white backgrounds work best to show the black body clearly.
- Cushion cover for cat-themed roomThe 4-inch size on a throw pillow in light linen fabric, use medium cutaway for the clean satin edge on black fills.
- Pet groomer apron decorationStitch on a cotton apron for a cat groomer or vet clinic, funny enough to be a talking point with clients.
- Novelty patch for denim or canvasPatch made with firm cutaway backing on denim, the deadpan expression looks great as a sleeve or back panel accent.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
