A customer wrote me last september asking if I had a pumpkin with alot more personality than the usual carved-face stuff. She wanted something she could put on a lil bag for her daughter and have it still look grown-up. This is what came out of that. The pumpkin body is digitised in a full leopard-print fill, 8 colours total, and the density sits at 464 which is high but necessary to get the spot pattern reading clearly at 3.47 inches wide.

Theres a bunch of detail packed into these 36,350 stitches. The directional fill in each leopard rosette runs at a different angle to the surrounding coat, so ya actually get that dimensional spotted look rather than a flat blob of colour. The bow on top uses a satin stitch with tight topping, which keeps it from sinking if you stitch it onto textured fabric. British note: I digitised this in Wilcom, same as all my designs, and the colour sequence is set up so 3 colours share the same thread stop, saves you a lil time at the machine.

Pair tearaway with the this one. Thirty-six thousand stitches on a 3.47-inch square means the stabiliser is working hard, and a tearaway wont give the back enough support. If youre putting it on a tote, hoop the stabiliser alone and use a topping layer of water-soluble film on top of the fabric, youll be glad you did when the rosette detail comes out crisp. Drop the presser foot tension slightly for the fill sections. And run a test piece first, at density 464 the underlay is dense aswell so the first hoop tells you alot about whether your tension is right.

Drop me a message if you run into any colour sequence confusion, sometimes the thread colour codes in the file need matching to your own brand of thread and I can help with that.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
